I love my skincare + makeup as much as the next girl. I love pampering myself – doing at-home spa days, using smoothing + anti-aging skincare lines, getting glammed up… because who doesn’t love feeling comfortable in their own skin? but what if I told you that beauty is not just skin deep?
month 4 is done! my dermatologist mentioned that this is where I would start to see a lot of breakthrough with my acne and dude he was right. I went a whole week without seeing a pimple! I have gotten a few this month, but they were fairly spaced out, and likely related to my diet (which has not been the best lately – oops). I have started to see some of the more undesirable side effects start to kick in, which is a bummer because it is starting affect what I can do throughout the day, but they’re not so severe that it’s completely inhibiting me. so if you’re curious to see how month 4 went, just keep reading!
hair – it can really make or break your look, can’t it? I practically live by the phrase “your hair is the crown that you can never take off,” so I do everything I can to use products that are going to style it well + keep it healthy; and one of my go-to products recently is Navy Hair Care’s Prep + Finishing Spray. if there’s one thing that gets me super excited about Navy Hair Care is that it’s my first partnership where they reached out to me *cue baby-blogger freakout* and boy am I glad they found me because this product has truly been one of the best additions to my hair care collection!
It’s already been one month since I started my Accutane journey. CRAZY! One down… 5 to go. It’s been an adjustment – both in good and bad ways. Although there’s still a long way to go, I’ve made enough progress in just one month that even others are starting to notice. But it does come at a bit of a price – I have a list of side effects I’ve started experiencing, some of them within a week of starting the medication. So for those of you who have been interested to keep up with me during my Accutane journey, here’s month one! Read my initial post about My Decision to Start Accutane to get an idea of my skin/acne treatment history.
Usually one of the first things I notice about someone is their smile. For me, as an avid coffee drinker, sometimes the stains that remain can take away from the brightness of my smile. I’ve tried turning to toothpastes and mouthwashes, but they just don’t seem to completely do the trick when it comes to deeper stains – and whitening strips have led to increased sensitivity. Then I turned to White with Style.
Before I get started, I just want to state that this post is not promoting Accutane – it’s a personal decision I made as a result of many years of frustration with my skin and was not a decision I took lightly. Accutane is a serious drug with serious side effects and is not for everyone; speak with your dermatologist about what plan of action is best for you.
