hello, my sweet readers! but especially my fellow bloggers. you’ll have to holler in the comments that you’re on here reading this because I’ll be so happy to know I’m not the only one that struggles with blog post ideas! I’ve been (officially) blogging for nearly two and a half years now, but seriously blogging for a little over a year; but I still consider myself a newbie blogger.
I love blogging, even if it’s simply for the fun of it, but sometimes I look at bloggers who have made it big and I always find myself wondering, how the heck do they have so much to write about?!
once upon a time I actually had posts scheduled out for a few months, and I felt like I had it all together… until I didn’t have the inspiration I thought I would, or I never managed to get the photos I intended to… or I didn’t get the supplies to do that diy…
y’all, people underestimate how challenging blogging can be. it’s a lot of work, and simply finding things to write about is just the beginning!

keep it simple. I love writing posts that I can pour my heart and/or smarts into a little bit, but the thing I’ve had to challenge myself to remember is that people aren’t always looking for a long, drawn out post – a lot of times they’re looking for simple answers or solutions to simple questions. instead of combining several concepts into one post, spread them out into littler posts (if you can still maintain quality) to keep your blog active and consistently up-to-date.
utilize pinterest. pinterest is literally the blogger hub. I can’t tell you how many times I search “blog post ideas for x, y, z month.” the holidays are quite frankly the easiest time for me to draw inspiration + ideas without too much prompting, but sometimes you need a little nudge to get your creative juices flowing.
take it to social media. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve gone around and asked friends and family what it is they would want to read, but I’ve also taken it to social media (primarily instagram) to get a better idea of what kind of topics my audience wants to see.
stay true to yourself. remember that every blogger has a unique set of passions, talents, resources, and knowledge – so while you might admire and look up to other bloggers, don’t ever forget that you have something special to offer, regardless of what you decide to write about!

Thanks for the tips Samantha! I definitely agree with Pinterest. It’s such an amazing resource.
